In his new role, Varun will lead revenue strategy as the company expands its AI-powered operating system across lending, underwriting, collections, and broader financial services transformation.
Prior to this, he served at LeadSquared as Senior Vice President and Business Head – BFSI. He led the company’s largest and fastest-growing segment, driving enterprise growth, strengthening consultative selling, and improving product adoption. He also contributed to innovation in loan origination systems and service cloud offerings.
Earlier, Varun spent over 4 years at LinkedIn in leadership roles including Director – Business Development (Growth Partnerships, APAC) and Head of Business Development – Events & Groups. He worked on growth strategy, partnerships, and cross-functional initiatives that supported user expansion in India, including student growth, Hindi-language rollout, and Aadhaar-based identity verification. He also briefly served as a board member at PinCap.
Before that, he held senior roles at Paytm, including Vice President – Business and Vice President at Paytm Payments Bank. He led the education business, contributed to scaling operations, and played a role in setting up the payments bank and evaluating financial partnerships.
Varun also worked at Boston Scientific in multiple leadership roles across regions, handling P&L, marketing, and business strategy. Earlier, he was with McKinsey & Company, where he led transformation and strategy projects across sectors.
Varun began his career at ITC Limited in technical and operations roles across manufacturing and modernisation projects.
He holds a Dual Degree (B.Tech, M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras and an MBA from Indian School of Business.
With experience across enterprise software, fintech, consulting, and digital growth, Varun brings a strong mix of strategic and operational expertise. His appointment comes as Yubi Group strengthens its AI-driven ecosystem to enhance transparency, compliance, and performance across India’s financial services sector.
