Strengthening its presence in India’s growing technology and business ecosystem, US-based home improvement retailer Lowe’s inaugurated a new office for its India team on October 16, 2026, marking another step in the expansion of its Global Capability Centre (GCC).
The inauguration was led by Marvin Ellison, Chairman and CEO of Lowe’s Companies Inc., alongside Seemantini Godbole, Ankur Mittal and other members of the company’s leadership team.
The event featured the unveiling of the new workspace, a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and the signing of the gable. Senior leaders also participated in an office walkthrough, giving employees an opportunity to explore the new facility.
According to the company, the new workspace is designed to support its continued growth and promote stronger collaboration across teams. However, Lowe’s has not disclosed details about the facility’s size, seating capacity or expected employee strength.
Lowe’s established its India capability centre in 2014, with Bengaluru as its operational base. Over the past decade, the centre has expanded its capabilities across technology, supply chain, merchandising, marketing and finance, supporting the retailer’s business operations and Total Home strategy.
Today, Lowe’s India employs more than 4,500 associates across technology, business, analytics and shared services. Its teams contribute to key areas such as omnichannel retail, artificial intelligence and machine learning, enterprise architecture, supply chain management and customer experience.
The latest office inauguration adds to the company’s established presence in India, providing additional workspace for its teams as the GCC continues to support Lowe’s evolving business and technology priorities.
