In his new role, Ashok will report directly to CEO Ajay Kapur and lead the company’s India operations as Suzlon advances its strategy to become a wind-first, full-stack renewable energy solutions provider.
Ashok joins Suzlon with more than 20 years of global leadership experience across renewable energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, industrial products, and vertical mobility sectors. His appointment comes at a time when India’s renewable energy industry is witnessing rapid growth and accelerating its energy transition efforts.
Most recently, he served as Group CEO of REE Corporation, one of Vietnam’s leading listed conglomerates. During his tenure, he oversaw a diversified portfolio spanning energy, water, engineering procurement and construction (EPC), air conditioning, and real estate businesses, with a focus on growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation.
Before joining REE Corporation, Ashok was Chief Operating Officer and Board Member at JSW Energy. He played a key role in supporting the company’s growth strategy as its power generation capacity expanded from approximately 5 GW to nearly 30 GW within 3 years.
A significant part of his career was spent with Schindler Group, where he held multiple leadership positions across India, Southeast Asia, and Australia. As CEO and President of Schindler India & South Asia, he led manufacturing, operations, sales, service, and research and development functions. Under his leadership, the business expanded its revenue from around ₹1,000 crore to ₹3,000 crore.
He also served as Managing Director for Malaysia and Brunei, as well as Managing Director for Vietnam under the Jardine Schindler Group. In these roles, he led business expansion, operational transformation, and market growth initiatives across the region. His international experience also includes leadership responsibilities with Schindler Lifts Australia.
With expertise in operational transformation, manufacturing excellence, business scaling, strategy execution, and leadership development, Ashok brings extensive global and regional experience to Suzlon. His appointment reflects the company’s focus on strengthening execution capabilities and reinforcing its leadership position in India’s renewable energy sector.
