Bihar expands AI ecosystem with new innovation hub and talent initiatives

Bihar has unveiled a major push to strengthen its artificial intelligence ecosystem, with a strong focus on transparent governance, employment generation and digital innovation. At the AI Conclave 2026, the state government, along with global AI and analytics firm Tiger Analytics, announced several initiatives to position Bihar as an emerging AI destination.

Speaking at the event, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit said the Bihar AI Mission reflects the state’s commitment to using AI to improve governance, create skilled jobs and support long-term economic growth. He added that Tiger Analytics, as the mission’s industry partner, will bring global AI expertise to help build an ecosystem where innovation and local talent can grow together.

The conclave brought together senior government officials, academicians and technology experts to discuss Bihar’s AI roadmap and explore how artificial intelligence can accelerate digital governance and innovation.

Tiger Analytics presented its long-term strategy for Bihar, built around 4 key pillars. These include establishing a large AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Patna, setting up a dedicated AI delivery hub, creating high-value employment opportunities for local professionals and promoting AI-driven governance across multiple sectors.

Founder and CEO of Tiger Analytics, Mahesh Kumar, said the company, in partnership with the Bihar government and IIT-Patna, is committed to building a strong AI ecosystem that empowers local talent, improves governance, strengthens decision-making and enhances citizen services through data-driven solutions.

Among the major announcements was the launch of a 200-person Global AI Delivery Centre in Patna. The facility will enable professionals from Bihar to develop enterprise AI solutions for global Fortune 1000 companies.

The company also committed ₹12 crore towards the proposed AI Centre of Excellence at IIT-Patna and related initiatives. As part of the programme, around 5,000 local youths will receive training in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), and speech and language models, helping prepare a skilled workforce for the digital economy.
