Anu brings more than 20 years of experience in human resources leadership, talent strategy, organizational development, workforce transformation, and employee engagement.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Anu shared that she has always been passionate about helping organizations create environments where people can thrive and perform at their best. She noted that the YMCA’s mission of strengthening communities strongly resonates with her, especially as her own family has personally benefited from the organization’s impact. She also expressed excitement about partnering with the employees and leaders who help drive the YMCA’s community-focused work every day.
Before joining the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta, Anu spent more than 4 years at Graphic Packaging International, where she held several senior HR leadership roles. Most recently, she served as Director, HRBP – Foodservice, Beverage and Latin America, leading HR strategy for nearly 7,000 employees across more than 20 locations in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil. In this role, she worked closely with operational and commercial leadership teams in a highly matrixed business environment.
Earlier, she held positions including Director, HRBP – Americas, Foodservice and National, Director, HRBP – Americas, National, and Director, HRBP – Americas, Foodservice. She contributed significantly to talent development, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and business transformation initiatives.
Prior to Graphic Packaging International, Anu served as Director, Human Resources at Oldcastle Infrastructure. After leading HR for the East Region, she became the company’s first HR leader dedicated to Corporate Functions, overseeing strategic HR initiatives related to total rewards, payroll, HR technology, shared services, and enterprise-wide HR transformation.
She also spent nearly 10 years with WestRock Company in various HR leadership positions, including Director, Human Resources, Senior Human Resources Business Partner, Human Resources Business Partner, and Divisional Human Resources Manager. During this period, she led initiatives focused on talent management, workforce planning, succession planning, performance management, leadership development, and organizational capability.
Earlier in her career, Anu worked with Chateau Elan as Human Resources Manager and spent nearly 6 years with Larson-Juhl in roles including National Recruitment Specialist and Human Resources Representative. She began her career as an Employee Relations Coordinator Intern at Target.
With experience spanning manufacturing, packaging, infrastructure, hospitality, retail, and community-focused organizations, Anu brings a strong combination of strategic leadership, operational excellence, and people-centric values. Her appointment is expected to further strengthen the YMCA’s focus on employee engagement, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.
