Fresh leaks indicate that Xiaomi is already working on its next flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 18 Pro, with early renders hinting at notable design updates and AI-focused features.
Shared by a tech commentator on X, the leaked renders reveal a possible new physical button on the device, expected to carry AI branding. This button could enable quick access to multiple AI-driven functions, offering “one-tap” control for tasks such as connected car features and smart home operations. It is also expected to support additional AI-powered capabilities, including “Xiaomi miclaw”.
The images suggest that the phone may retain a design similar to its predecessor, the Xiaomi 17 Pro, which introduced a secondary display on the rear panel. The Xiaomi 18 Pro is also expected to feature a rectangular camera module housing 2 camera lenses and possibly a secondary display.
Recent reports indicate that the smartphone could launch later this year with a 7,000mAh or larger battery, along with support for 100W wired fast charging. It is also rumoured to include 2 rear cameras with 200-megapixel sensors, offering telephoto and macro capabilities. However, these details have not been officially confirmed.
The upcoming model is expected to succeed the Xiaomi 17 Pro, which launched in China in September 2025 at a starting price of CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs. 75,000) for the base variant with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The previous model is powered by Qualcomm’s 3nm octa core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and packs a 6,300mAh battery. It also features a Leica-tuned triple rear camera system led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor.
As with all early leaks, these details should be treated cautiously until official confirmation is announced.
