PUMA plans Pune GCC to drive AI and digital engineering

PUMA is strengthening its technology presence in India with plans to establish a global capability centre (GCC) in Pune. The new centre will expand the German sportswear company’s digital engineering capabilities and support its global e-commerce operations.

The Pune GCC will focus on building PUMA’s direct-to-consumer engineering organisation and developing digital products for its global retail business. Its technology capabilities are expected to cover AI, cloud technologies, product engineering and customer-focused digital platforms as the company advances its digital transformation efforts.

The company has already started hiring for key leadership and engineering positions. These include directors of engineering, principal integration engineers and senior solution architects, as PUMA builds its new technology centre.

The move further strengthens Pune’s position as a major GCC destination. Multinational companies are increasingly choosing the city to establish teams focused on engineering, product development and innovation.

Founded in 1948 and headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany, PUMA is among the world’s largest sportswear companies. It designs and sells footwear, apparel and accessories across more than 120 countries.
