In a step towards expanding its AI capabilities, Swiggy has announced the launch of Builders Club, a new developer programme that opens its AI-driven commerce infrastructure to external developers, startups, and enterprises building AI-native applications.
The programme is built on Amazon Web Services and uses Amazon Bedrock and AgentCore. It provides approved developers access to 3 MCP servers and more than 18 API tools across Swiggy Food, Instamart, and Dineout. These tools allow developers to build AI agents, copilots, and assistants that can perform actions like ordering food, grocery shopping, and booking dining experiences.
Builders Club builds on Swiggy’s earlier MCP launch, which opened its core commerce infrastructure to AI systems. The new initiative adds an ecosystem layer, defining how developers interact with Swiggy, what tools they can use, and how successful integrations can grow into deeper partnerships.
The programme runs on AWS’s enterprise AI stack. This includes Amazon Bedrock for access to models from Anthropic, Meta, and Mistral AI. It also uses AWS Trainium chips, which offer up to 50% savings on training costs and 30–40% better inference performance, along with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore for building AI applications.
Swiggy CTO Madhusudhan Rao said the move marks a shift from being just a platform to becoming an ecosystem orchestrator. “We are providing the foundational layer for AI-native commerce innovation,” he said.
Sandeep Dutta, President of AWS India and South Asia, said the partnership highlights how open AI infrastructure can boost innovation in India’s digital economy.
A key feature of the programme is its Skills framework, which helps AI agents handle real-world tasks more efficiently. Builders Club will also bring together MCP integrations and the upcoming Builders Platform for developers.
Access to the programme will be invite-based and application-driven to maintain quality and build a strong early community. Benefits include live API access, high rate limits, engineering support, co-branding opportunities, and growth partnerships for selected projects.
