State Bank of India (SBI) has been allotted a 10-acre land parcel in Meerkhanpet for its proposed data centre within the Bharat Future City (BFC) development.
The allocation follows the resolution of a dispute between the state government and SBI over a separate property in Raidurg. Under the new arrangement, 7 acres will be provided as compensation for the previously contested land, while SBI will pay for the remaining 3 acres.
The development is expected to strengthen the technology and infrastructure ecosystem at Bharat Future City, which is emerging as a location for large-scale technology investments.
Government officials from the Chief Minister’s Office have said the region is developing into a national hub for artificial intelligence and data centre operations. Several technology and infrastructure companies have already announced projects in the area.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has started work on its flagship data centre within the BFC precinct.
In early September, HyperVault, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), finalised an agreement with the Telangana government to establish a 1 GW AI data centre campus, involving an investment of ₹70,000 crore.
Other projects include a 2 GW AI data centre by CtrlS, which is currently under construction, and a proposed 100 MW facility by UPC Volt, which is under review by authorities.
SBI’s proposed facility adds another major data centre project to Bharat Future City’s expanding digital infrastructure landscape.
