In a move aimed at improving travel convenience, Samsung has rolled out a new feature that brings all travel-related details into one unified space. The update is designed to help users stay organised and manage their journeys more efficiently.
Samsung recently updated its Wallet app with a new “Trips” feature for Galaxy smartphone users. This feature provides a single dashboard where users can view and manage all their travel plans in one place. It introduces a Trip timeline that displays bookings and itineraries in a clear, organised format.
The Trips feature automatically arranges travel details based on time and location when users add supported items to Samsung Wallet. It supports hotel bookings, flight details, car rentals, and excursions. It also includes tickets for buses, trains, theme parks, and sporting events, helping users keep everything together even if the information comes from different sources.
Users can also manually add itinerary items and attach notes or reminders to specific entries. This makes it easier to customise travel plans and stay updated throughout the trip.
The feature will start rolling out this month in select markets, including South Korea, the US, and the UK. It will be available on compatible Samsung Galaxy devices running Samsung Wallet version 5.9.32 or higher in South Korea, 6.4.97 or higher in the US, and 6.4.98 or higher in the UK.
This update gives Samsung a slight edge over its competitor, Google Wallet, which allows users to store boarding passes, transit details, and event tickets but does not offer a timeline view. Google Wallet mainly imports details from Gmail, while Samsung’s Trips feature focuses on a more structured and visual organisation.
Samsung also highlighted that the Wallet app is protected by Samsung Knox and uses encryption and biometric authentication to keep user data secure. The company plans to continue enhancing the app with more features and partnerships in the future.
