Infosys and Truist expand collaboration to scale AI-led banking operations

The growing focus on AI-led banking operations is driving an expanded collaboration between Infosys and US-based financial services company Truist. The partnership will support the continued development of Truist’s AI-first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, with more than 1,000 colleagues set to be onboarded later this month.

Through the expanded agreement, Infosys will use its financial services expertise and AI capabilities to help Truist bring services currently handled by multiple suppliers in India under a more unified operating model.

The Hyderabad GCC aims to bring AI, technology, data and operations together within a single delivery framework. Infosys will help build and scale a self-sustaining centre of excellence designed to reduce dependence on third parties, simplify global delivery and strengthen technology talent.

The collaboration is also expected to expand India’s role as a hub for innovation, talent and digital capabilities. Truist already has contract professionals in India working across engineering, data and operations.

Truist Chief Information Officer Steve Hagerman said, “Our Global Capability Center in India is a strategic investment in Truist’s future.” He added that the centre would help the bank develop global capabilities, accelerate innovation and improve client service as it works towards becoming a more agile, AI-enabled enterprise.

Dennis Gada, executive vice-president and global head of banking and financial services at Infosys, said the company would draw on Infosys Topaz, its Build, Operate and Transfer enablement model, and its financial services expertise to support Truist’s transformation. He noted that financial institutions need to move beyond modernising legacy infrastructure and deploy AI at scale across business functions.
