Samsung has begun the stable rollout of its Android 17-based One UI 9 software update for compatible Galaxy devices. After months of beta testing, the update is now available for the Galaxy S26 lineup and is expected to reach more Galaxy smartphones and tablets in the coming weeks.
The rollout is confirmed for the Samsung Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra. One UI 9 was first introduced with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and Galaxy Z Flip 8 in July. Samsung says the latest version brings new Galaxy AI tools, privacy features and camera improvements.
One of the key additions is Privacy Alerts, which uses on-device AI to identify possible privacy risks, including unnecessary attempts to access device permissions.
Samsung has not announced a detailed rollout schedule for other devices. However, a footnote related to Privacy Alerts lists several Galaxy models expected to receive the update. These include Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, Galaxy Tab S11, Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, Galaxy Tab S10 Plus, Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, Galaxy Tab S9 Plus and Galaxy Tab S9.
The list is not complete. Notably, the Galaxy S26+ does not appear in the footnote despite being part of the current Galaxy S26 series.
One UI 9 adds Security Brief alerts for malware, apps from unknown sources and unnecessary permissions in Now Brief. Scam Detection is also expanding to more countries and languages.
The update introduces My FanCam, which can track a selected subject and automatically adjust video framing. It also adds Generative and Editable Cards to Now Brief, along with warranty and care information in Settings.
Samsung has further expanded Galaxy AI with Now Nudge, Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scan and Voice Recorder improvements. Security Brief, Privacy Alerts and Scam Detection are also part of the new toolkit.
