Prudential plc has announced key leadership changes for its India health business, appointing Amit Dave as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, and Abhishek Saraf as Chief Operating Officer, subject to regulatory approvals. The move signals a sharper focus on expanding its health operations in India.
Amit Dave takes over from Amar Joshi, who is stepping down to pursue new opportunities. With over 20 years of experience, Amit has worked across strategy, product design, agency distribution, bancassurance, and partnerships in the insurance sector. He previously served as President and Chief Distribution Officer at Tata AIA Life Insurance. He will report to Naveen Tahilyani, Regional CEO overseeing India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Africa, along with Group Agency and Health.
Amar Joshi played a key role in building Prudential Health India from its early joint venture phase to advancing toward securing its operating licence. His contributions spanned strategy, talent, product development, and core operational capabilities.
Abhishek Saraf joins as COO and will report to Amit Dave. He will work closely with teams across Finance, Actuarial, Risk, Compliance, Products, and Data Analytics to drive execution, alignment, and performance. With over 25 years of experience within the Prudential ecosystem, he most recently served as Group Chief Actuary.
