Mahindra Group has appointed Shveta Arya as Group Chief Strategy Officer, effective September 15, 2026.
She will report to Anish Shah, Group CEO & Managing Director, Mahindra Group, and lead the Group’s strategic agenda across its businesses, supporting long-term growth, transformation, and portfolio priorities.
Shveta brings more than 23 years of experience across corporate strategy, business leadership, P&L management, mergers and acquisitions, commercial operations, consulting, and technology. She joins Mahindra after nearly 10 years with Cummins India, where she most recently served as Managing Director – Cummins India Limited and Business Head – Power Systems.
During her tenure at Cummins India, Shveta held several leadership positions, including Head – Strategy, Business Head – Distribution Business, Business Head – Power Systems, and Managing Director. As Head of Strategy, she led the company’s strategy and growth office. Her subsequent roles expanded her responsibilities across P&L management, sales, service, customer support, and business growth. She also served on the boards of Cummins Sales & Service Pvt. Ltd. and Valvoline Cummins Ltd.
Before Cummins, Shveta spent nearly 5 years with Thomas Cook India Limited, serving as Vice President – Strategy and earlier as AVP – Strategy & Commercial. She led strategic initiatives across business units, M&A transactions across geographies, commercial and financial activities, and P&L responsibilities for businesses including airport operations, remittances, and online foreign exchange.
Earlier, she worked with A.T. Kearney as Associate and Senior Business Analyst, gaining experience in strategic consulting and business transformation. She began her career as a Software Engineer at Infosys Technologies Ltd. and later moved into strategy and consulting. She also completed a summer internship with Accenture.
Shveta holds a PGDM from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad). Her experience across consulting, corporate strategy, P&L leadership, and business operations will support her new mandate at Mahindra Group.
