BioNTech has appointed Elizabeth Vigeant as Senior Vice President, Head of Global HR Business Partnering, expanding her responsibilities after she previously led U.S. HR and Global Commercial HR at the biotechnology company.
In her new role, Vigeant will lead BioNTech’s global HR Business Partner function and work closely with business and HR leaders to align talent and leadership priorities with the company’s scientific and business strategy. Her expanded mandate comes as BioNTech continues its work across cancer and infectious diseases, with HR positioned as a strategic partner to the business.
Vigeant brings more than 20 years of professional experience across HR business partnering, people and culture, organizational design, succession planning, talent strategy, workforce programs, healthcare and biotechnology operations.
She joined BioNTech in September 2024 as Head of U.S. HR and Head of Global Commercial HR. Her new position extends that responsibility across the company’s global HRBP organization, connecting people’s priorities with business strategy and patient impact.
Before BioNTech, Vigeant served as Vice President, Head of People at LifeMine Therapeutics from September 2023 to September 2024. She previously spent 2 years at TCR² Therapeutics, moving from Senior Director, People & Culture to Vice President, People & Culture.
At TCR² Therapeutics, her responsibilities included leadership succession, executive and manager development, talent acquisition, employee experience, organizational design, performance management and people strategy.
Vigeant also spent more than 5 years at Biogen, progressing through talent acquisition and global HR business partnering roles before becoming Director, Global Aduhelm HR Program Lead, Global Product Strategy & Commercialization and HR4HR.
Her work at Biogen covered organizational and succession planning, talent development, HR strategy and cross-functional programs involving hiring, onboarding, learning, culture, total rewards and employee relations. She also supported U.S. return-to-workplace operations during the COVID-19 period and earlier developed a scalable program supporting more than 11,000 non-employee resources.
Earlier in her career, Vigeant managed a temporary workforce program for Merck KGaA businesses, including MilliporeSigma, EMD Serono and EMD Performance Materials, covering more than 700 people.
Her healthcare experience includes roles at Boston Children’s Hospital, where she managed operations and HR activities for Toxicology, and Tufts Medical Center, where she served as HR & Operations Manager for the Institute of Clinical Research.
She began her career in scientific recruitment, staffing and business development with Apex Systems, formerly Lab Support, after working as a Regional Sales Manager with Environmental Data Resources.
