Bank of Baroda has introduced voice-based payments in its mobile banking platform, allowing customers to initiate and complete transactions using spoken commands.
The public sector lender has added the feature to its AI-powered ‘bob World 2.0’ app. The updated platform also includes a personal finance management module that gives customers a complete view of their finances to support better financial wellness.
“Customers expect experiences that are intuitive, intelligent, secure and highly personalised. With bob World 2.0, we have reimagined mobile banking around our customers’ needs,” the bank’s managing director and chief executive Debdatta Chand said.
The new app includes ‘voice-enabled payments and navigation’, allowing users to start transactions and access different features through voice commands. Its finance module is designed to provide a broader view of a customer’s financial position.
The app also offers a persona-based experience tailored to different customer groups, including senior citizens, women, NRIs and millennials.
Security has also been built into the platform through a multi-layered framework designed to provide real-time protection for users and their transactions.
The app was launched at last week’s Global Fintech Fest in the presence of Sanjay Lohia, Secretary in the Department of Financial Services, along with Bank of Baroda’s management team, including Chand.
