With more than 30 years of experience across learning and development, talent capability building and organisational learning, Palanisamy will play a key role in strengthening the company’s learning ecosystem and supporting its next phase of growth and transformation.
Before joining Asirvad Micro Finance, Annamalai served as Senior Vice President and Head – Learning & Development at Spandana Sphoorty Financial Limited. In this role, he led organisation-wide learning strategies focused on capability development, leadership effectiveness, employee growth and business-aligned learning programmes within the microfinance sector.
Prior to that, he spent more than 6 years with IIFL Samasta Finance Limited, where he progressed through several leadership positions, including General Manager, Assistant Vice President, Deputy Vice President and Vice President. During his tenure, he led learning and development initiatives aimed at strengthening talent capabilities, coaching frameworks, digital learning programmes and leadership development efforts to support the company’s expanding operations.
Earlier, Annamalai worked with Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance as Zonal Training Head. He was responsible for training strategy, capability enhancement and performance improvement initiatives across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Goa and other southern markets, supporting large sales and distribution teams.
A significant part of his career was spent at HDFC Life, where he served for approximately 9 years in roles including Branch Training Manager, Area Training Manager and Regional Training Manager. During this period, he contributed to onboarding programmes, leadership development initiatives, trainer capability enhancement, stakeholder engagement, budgeting and regional training governance across multiple business functions and locations.
Earlier in his professional journey, Palanisamy Annamalai gained extensive experience with Pfizer and Modi-Mundipharma. He built a strong track record in sales excellence, product launches, leadership development and professional engagement. At Pfizer, he received multiple leadership and performance awards and was selected for a future leadership development programme.
His appointment reflects Asirvad Micro Finance’s focus on strengthening learning, leadership development and workforce capability as the organisation continues its growth journey.
