Vivo X Fold 6 set to debut with new AI features and OriginOS 6 Fold

As competition in the foldable smartphone segment continues to grow, Vivo has officially confirmed the arrival of its next book-style foldable device, the Vivo X Fold 6, in China. While the company has not revealed the exact launch date, the smartphone is expected to debut later this month.

The first official teaser highlights Vivo’s focus on artificial intelligence, positioning the upcoming device as a major step toward delivering what the company describes as “the mobile terminal with the best AI user experience”.

Vivo has confirmed that the X Fold 6 will run on the newly introduced OriginOS 6 Fold, the brand’s latest custom operating system, which is expected to be based on Android 16. One of the key additions is the Atomic Workbench feature, designed to allow users to run and access multiple Android applications simultaneously on the foldable display.

The upcoming smartphone will also include several AI-powered capabilities. These include an AI Assistant, a dual-device buddy system, and enhancements to AI interaction and edge AI processing. Vivo says these upgrades are aimed at improving productivity and user experience across the device.

Several specifications of the Vivo X Fold 6 have already surfaced through leaks and reports. The foldable is expected to feature a 6,900mAh battery, offering a notable upgrade over the 6,000mAh battery found in the previous-generation Vivo X Fold 5.

Under the hood, the smartphone is rumoured to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. In terms of photography, the device could feature a 200-megapixel rear camera sensor alongside a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, promising significant improvements in imaging capabilities.

With official teasers now live and more details emerging, Vivo appears to be positioning the X Fold 6 as a premium foldable device that combines advanced AI features, upgraded software, and enhanced hardware to strengthen its presence in the foldable smartphone market.
