In a major scale-up of its satellite operations, SpaceX is producing Starlink satellites at a rate of over 4,000 units per year, or roughly 340 per month, according to analysts at Quilty Space.

This marks a significant jump from 2,880 satellites produced in 2024, reflecting a growth of over 40%.

Alongside production, Starlink’s global ground infrastructure has expanded rapidly. The number of gateways increased from around 240 in 2024 to approximately 503 in 2026, more than doubling. Around 135 new sites have been added so far in 2026.

Analysts noted that the Starlink business has evolved significantly in a short span. “The business looks nothing like it did 18 months ago,” Quilty stated.

The firm projects that Starlink will generate about $20 billion in revenue in 2026, nearly doubling from an estimated $11.8 billion in 2025. Growth is being driven not just by subscriber expansion, but also by shifts in revenue mix, pricing strategies, and increasing demand from government clients.

Adoption across industries is also accelerating. More than 30 airlines now offer Starlink connectivity, with revenue from this segment expected to grow by 68% year-on-year.

The maritime sector is also emerging as a key growth driver. Around 75,000 shipping vessels are expected to adopt Starlink services this year, potentially generating $1.9 billion in revenue.

The developments highlight Starlink’s rapid global expansion and its growing role across aviation, maritime, and government sectors.
