Vivo has started building anticipation for its next V series smartphone in India. The company has officially teased the Vivo V80, revealing parts of its design and confirming that the phone is headed to the Indian market. However, the launch date is yet to be announced.
The company shared the announcement on X on Tuesday and has also created a landing page on its India website. The page shows a partial view of the handset with a “coming soon” tag.
The teaser shows the Vivo V80 in an orange colour option. Its design follows the familiar V series styling, with a triple rear camera setup and an LED flash. The phone is also confirmed to feature a Zeiss-branded rear camera system, similar to the Vivo V70. The teaser video describes the handset as a “creative partner”, highlighting its focus on photography.
Recent leaks suggest that the Vivo V80 could launch in India during the first week of October. It is expected to feature a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3X zoom support. The phone is also tipped to pack a 7,200mAh battery and run Android 17 with Vivo’s OriginOS 7.
The Vivo V80 will succeed the Vivo V70, which launched in February this year with a starting price of Rs. 49,999. The V70 is powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, paired with 8GB LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
It features a 6.59-inch VM9 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness. The phone packs a 6,500mAh battery with 90W wired fast charging and carries IP68 and IP69 ratings.
For cameras, the Vivo V70 has a Zeiss-tuned triple rear setup with a 50-megapixel primary camera, 50-megapixel telephoto camera and 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. It also features a 50-megapixel front camera.
