Uber has expanded its use of artificial intelligence by introducing ChatGPT Work across its global workforce of more than 30,000 employees. The rollout, announced by the company, follows an initial pilot involving 1,000 employees and marks its first company-wide deployment of an agentic platform designed for knowledge work.
ChatGPT Work operates within ChatGPT Enterprise and helps employees handle complex, multi-step tasks, from research and data analysis to preparing meeting briefs, creating presentations and completing workflows across different applications.
The platform connects with tools commonly used at Uber, including Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar and Slack. These integrations allow employees to gather information, organise tasks and produce work across multiple applications.
Through the rollout, Uber will also gain access to OpenAI’s portfolio of advanced AI models. GPT-6.1 Sol will serve as the default capability within ChatGPT Work, balancing performance with cost efficiency. Employees will also have access to multimodal capabilities, including voice and image generation, allowing teams to select suitable tools for different tasks.
Uber will support the deployment through an internal AI skills library, approved integrations and dedicated employee training. Teams across operations, finance, marketing and product will be able to use the technology in their daily work.
The company’s developers and software engineering teams will continue using Codex to support software development and streamline coding workflows.
The expansion marks another step in Uber’s broader AI strategy and its collaboration with OpenAI. Both companies plan to share further insights into employee adoption, practical use cases and measurable outcomes as the rollout progresses.
