Spotify users can now manage more of their listening experience through Meta’s Muse personal AI agent, following a new integration between the 2 services. The feature lets users control music, podcasts and audiobooks through conversational requests, while also supporting playlist creation and content discovery.
Spotify announced the integration on Wednesday, bringing its catalogue to Muse. After connecting the 2 services, users can search Spotify, start or queue playback, save tracks and manage playlists. Muse can also resume previously played podcasts, while Spotify Connect enables playback on compatible connected devices.
The integration also adds playlist management through conversations. Users can ask Muse to find specific music and add it to an existing playlist or create a new one. Muse can name the new playlist and add the selected tracks as part of the same interaction.
Spotify’s Personal Podcast feature is also available through Muse. The AI agent can turn daily briefings, notes and other ideas into audio, with the resulting Personal Podcast saved directly to the user’s Spotify Library.
The integration can also connect playback with time and scheduled activities. Users can set a playlist to begin at a specific time, such as 7am for a morning run. Calendar entries can also be used to trigger playback around planned activities, including a focus playlist during a scheduled work session.
Spotify has highlighted road trips as another use case. Muse can use a destination to create a driving playlist and schedule it to start automatically when the journey begins.
The integration brings together Spotify’s music, podcast and audiobook catalogue with Muse’s conversational controls, allowing users to manage listening through natural requests.
Spotify said more ways to use Muse with its service are planned, but it has not shared details about upcoming features or when they will become available.
