SpaceX expands Starlink network with successful Falcon 9 satellite mission

Continuing its rapid satellite deployment efforts, SpaceX has successfully launched 24 new Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit, further advancing its mission to strengthen global internet connectivity.

The company’s Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from California late Tuesday night. The satellites reached their initial orbit in less than 9 minutes after launch, while full deployment is expected around 50 minutes later.

This mission marked SpaceX’s 58th launch of 2026 and the 2nd flight for Falcon 9 booster 1103. After completing the mission, the reusable booster safely landed on the “Of Course I Still Love You” droneship stationed in the Pacific Ocean.

According to space tracker Jonathan McDowell, there are now nearly 10,500 active Starlink satellites orbiting Earth, highlighting the massive scale of SpaceX’s satellite internet network.

The continued expansion of the Starlink constellation is expected to strengthen internet access across remote and underserved regions worldwide as demand for satellite-based connectivity continues to rise.
