India’s private space sector received a major boost as the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) selected 3 space startups for funding under its Technology Adoption Fund (TAF) scheme. Among the selected companies are 2 Bengaluru-based startups, highlighting the city’s growing role in the country’s space technology ecosystem.
The selected startups are Astrobase Space Technologies and SatSure Analytics India from Bengaluru, along with Hyderabad-based TM2SPACE Technologies. These companies will receive financial support to develop advanced technologies aimed at strengthening India’s indigenous space capabilities and enhancing its global competitiveness.
Astrobase Space Technologies will focus on developing a high-thrust closed-cycle liquid rocket engine for future space launch vehicles. SatSure Analytics India has been chosen to build a Large Earth Observation Model designed to serve as India’s foundational AI platform for remote sensing applications. Meanwhile, TM2SPACE Technologies will develop an indigenous AI-powered star tracker system for satellites, helping improve precision in imaging and communication missions.
The startups were selected through a multi-stage evaluation process conducted by an expert committee comprising members from ISRO, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, the Department of Science and Technology, industry bodies, academic institutions and IN-SPACe.
According to IN-SPACe Chairman Dr. Pawan Goenka, “With this fund, our vision is to bridge the critical gap between early-stage development and commercial success. By offering this financial support, we are empowering the private sector to work on cutting-edge space technologies.”
The Technology Adoption Fund has been created to help Indian companies absorb, adapt and commercialize advanced space technologies. Through this initiative, IN-SPACe aims to accelerate innovation, encourage private sector participation and support the development of next-generation space solutions in India.
