Sony introduces Sandstone colour variant for WH-1000XM6 headphones in India

Indian consumers now have another colour choice for Sony’s flagship wireless headphones, as the company has introduced the new Sandstone finish for the WH-1000XM6. The latest variant joins the existing Black, Platinum Silver, Midnight Blue, and Sand Pink colour options already available in the country.

The Sony WH-1000XM6 in Sandstone is priced at Rs. 39,990. The company first launched the headphones in India in September 2025 with Black, Platinum Silver, and Midnight Blue finishes, followed by the introduction of the Sand Pink variant in February 2026. With the arrival of Sandstone, the premium headphones are now available in 5 colour options.

Customers can purchase the new variant through select Sony Centre stores, major retail outlets, e-commerce platforms, and the company’s online store.

Apart from the new colour, the headphones retain the same specifications and features as the existing model. The WH-1000XM6 is equipped with 30mm drivers in a closed-back over-ear design and supports Hi-Res Wireless Audio through LDAC technology. Sony’s DSEE Extreme technology is also included to enhance compressed audio quality.

For noise cancellation, the headphones feature Sony’s HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3 along with a 12-microphone system. Additional audio features include Adaptive NC Optimiser, Ambient Sound Mode, Auto Ambient Sound, and Quick Attention.

The device also supports 360 Reality Audio Upmix for Cinema and multipoint connectivity, allowing users to switch between connected devices seamlessly. For calls, Sony has integrated a MEMS microphone system to improve voice clarity.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.3, with support for SBC, AAC, LDAC, and LC3 audio codecs. Users can also connect the headphones using a 3.5mm audio cable for wired listening.

Sony claims the WH-1000XM6 can provide up to 30 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation enabled and up to 40 hours without noise cancellation. The headphones charge through a USB Type-C port and take approximately 3.5 hours to fully recharge.

Weighing around 254g, the headphones are bundled with a carrying case for added portability and protection.
