Ajay’s appointment follows the recommendation of the Departmental Promotion Committee, elevating him from Chief General Manager (E8) to Executive Director (E9).
A highly experienced civil engineering professional, Sh. Verma completed his graduation from M.S. Ramaiah College, Bangalore in 1988. He also earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Construction Management from Delhi Productivity Council, New Delhi in 1998, followed by a Post Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Indian Institute of Management Indore in 2015.
Sh. Verma joined THDCIL on July 30, 1990 as an Engineer (Trainee) and has built a distinguished career spanning more than 3 decades. Over the years, he has contributed across major areas including Rehabilitation, Construction, Corporate Contracts, Vigilance, Spillway works of Tehri Dam, and Planning & Quality Control of Koteshwar Dam.
During his tenure as Additional General Manager, Verma successfully led the timely commissioning of the Dhukwan Small Hydro Electric Project (3×8 MW). He later moved to the Khurja Super Thermal Power Project (KSTPP), where he managed Contracts Management and the Ash Dyke Package for the 1320 MW project.
With over 38 years of post-graduation experience, Sh. Verma has been serving as Head of Project for the 444 MW Vishnugad-Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project (VPHEP) since 2023. Under his leadership, the project has achieved notable progress through effective decision-making and efficient management of complex social, geological, and technical challenges.
