Sandvik strengthens India presence with advanced innovation and AI hub in Pune

Strengthening its focus on digital manufacturing and intelligent solutions, Sandvik has inaugurated its Innovation Hub in Pune, India, further expanding its global innovation ecosystem.

The new hub enhances Sandvik’s existing development center with a broader engineering presence across R&D, software, AI, and customer support. It is expected to play a key role in advancing digital thread and AI-driven capabilities, enabling faster and more customer-focused product development.

According to Mattias Nilsson, President – Business Area Intelligent Manufacturing, the India Innovation Hub represents an important milestone in strengthening Sandvik’s long-term commitment to innovation, sustainable growth, and delivering greater value to customers across global markets.

India continues to remain a strategic market for the company, and the new initiative is also aimed at deepening collaboration with academic institutions and industry partners. The move is expected to support skill development while building future-ready capabilities aligned with evolving industry demands.
