Fresh leaks suggest Redmi is preparing to introduce the Turbo 6 Max in China, with the smartphone expected to launch in January next year. The upcoming model is tipped to arrive with a larger display, a MediaTek Dimensity chipset and a high-capacity battery.

According to a tipster, the Redmi Turbo 6 Max could feature a 7-inch flat display with 2K resolution. While the exact processor has not been confirmed, the handset is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 series chipset. It is also tipped to pack a “massive” battery, which is expected to have a capacity of around 10,000mAh.

The early specifications indicate notable upgrades over the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, which was launched in January last year. The previous model debuted with a starting price of CNY 2,499 (around Rs. 33,000) for the 12GB + 256GB variant.

The Redmi Turbo 5 Max features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display and is powered by a 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor. It offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. The smartphone also carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

For photography, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max includes a 50-megapixel primary rear camera and a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. It is backed by a 9,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging.

Redmi has not officially confirmed the Redmi Turbo 6 Max or its specifications. More details about the smartphone are expected to emerge closer to its anticipated launch.
