Ahead of its India debut, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has revealed key hardware and durability details for the upcoming Note 17 Pro series. The lineup will include the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, following their launch in select global markets.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset. The higher-end Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 SoC.
Redmi has also confirmed that both smartphones will come with an IP69K rating for dust and water resistance. The series has received TÜV SÜD 5-Star Titan Quality certification and will offer Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
The Pro Max will also feature a “photochromic, colour-changing material” on the rear panel. This finish will be available only in the Secret Sunshine colour option.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro series is set to launch in India on September 15. Redmi has previously confirmed that the phones will feature batteries of up to 10,000mAh, with the company claiming more than 4 days of battery life on a single charge.
Both smartphones will have a dual rear camera setup, while the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will feature a 50-megapixel primary rear camera.
In terms of design, the Indian models will look similar to their global counterparts. Both phones will have a flat rear panel with a square-shaped camera module positioned in the top-left corner. They will also feature a hole-punch display cutout, expected to house the front camera for selfies and video calls.
