
In his expanded role, Rahul Ranjan will continue to lead large-scale procurement strategies, driving efficiency, innovation and sustainability across infrastructure, automation and supply chain ecosystems that support Flipkart’s operations.
Ranjan has been with Flipkart for over 5 years, most recently serving as Director – Procurement Infrastructure and Packaging. During this period, he managed procurement spends of up to USD 200 million annually. He oversaw complex categories including greenfield warehouse development, brownfield expansion projects across India, and large-scale automation systems such as conveyor networks, sortation systems and AGV/AMR-based solutions.
He played a key role in scaling infrastructure, including procurement for over 500 dark stores across India and the development of feeder warehouse networks. His contributions also include building global vendor ecosystems, advancing sustainability through circular economy practices and driving AI-led procurement transformation to improve operational efficiency.
Before joining Flipkart, Ranjan spent over 20 years with the Government of India, where he held multiple leadership roles in procurement, supply chain and program management. As Director – Procurement for Engineering Equipment, he led pan-India delivery of critical infrastructure projects, managing high-value programs while achieving cost efficiencies and resolving complex operational challenges.
Earlier, he served as Head of Programs, Procurement and Supply Chain, leading large engineering units and driving execution across national initiatives. His experience also spans strategy, logistics, training and infrastructure procurement, where he was recognised for crisis management and operational coordination.
Ranjan has recently completed the Advanced Program in AI for Leaders from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, strengthening his expertise in leveraging AI for business transformation.
With nearly 30 years of experience across public and private sectors, he brings deep expertise in procurement, infrastructure development, supply chain transformation and AI-led innovation.
