Strengthening its leadership team amid rising competition in India’s health insurance market, Niva Bupa Health Insurance has promoted Rahul Chatterjee to Senior Vice President & Head of Marketing. The move recognizes his contribution to building the company’s brand and enhancing customer engagement in a rapidly evolving healthcare insurance landscape.

In his new role, Rahul will oversee Niva Bupa’s overall marketing strategy, brand development, customer acquisition initiatives, product marketing, and market positioning. His elevation comes as health insurers increasingly focus on innovation, customer education, digital engagement, and differentiated value propositions to address changing consumer expectations.

Rahul has been associated with Niva Bupa Health Insurance for over 4 years and has played a key role in strengthening the company’s brand presence. Before this promotion, he served as Vice President & Head – Brand Marketing, where he led strategic brand initiatives, marketing campaigns, and customer-centric programs that helped enhance the company’s visibility and market relevance.

Earlier, he held the position of Head of Brand Marketing at Niva Bupa, contributing to the company’s brand narrative, marketing strategy, and business growth in a highly competitive insurance environment. His progression through multiple leadership roles highlights a consistent record of delivering impactful marketing results.

Before joining Niva Bupa, Rahul spent nearly 6 years at GSK Consumer Healthcare India, holding positions including Senior Brand Manager, Brand Manager, and Brand Manager – Expert Marketing. During this period, he managed brands such as Ostocalcium, Horlicks, Growth+, Cardia+, Crocin, and Otrivin. His responsibilities included annual operating plans, innovation launches, marketing strategy, demand generation, media investments, and healthcare professional engagement programs.

Prior to that, he worked with Sanofi as Product Manager and Senior Product Manager, managing Enterogermina and leading brand strategy, portfolio growth, customer engagement, and market development initiatives. He also held product management roles at Cipla Ltd. and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, overseeing therapeutic portfolios across anti-infectives, anti-allergics, anti-malarials, nutrition products, and anti-diabetic categories.

With over 15 years of experience spanning health insurance, consumer healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and wellness, Rahul brings deep expertise in consumer behavior, healthcare marketing, product innovation, and brand leadership. His elevation is expected to further strengthen Niva Bupa’s market position as it expands its reach and enhances customer confidence in healthcare access.
