Pulnovo Medical has secured $100 million in an oversubscribed funding round led by Medtronic, supporting its next phase of clinical development and global expansion.
The funds will be used to advance clinical trials, pursue global regulatory approvals, and accelerate international commercialisation of Pulnovo’s therapies focused on pulmonary hypertension and heart failure.
At the core of its portfolio is the Pulmonary Artery Denervation (PADN) system, a minimally invasive therapy designed to regulate overactive sympathetic nerve activity linked to pulmonary vascular remodelling and cardiopulmonary disease progression. The company stated that global studies have shown improvements in functional capacity and reductions in major adverse clinical events.
“This financing marks a pivotal transition from a product-driven phase to a fully integrated global platform,” said Cynthia Chen. “As we continue to strengthen our capabilities across both clinical and technological fronts, we remain committed to delivering meaningful innovation to patients worldwide.”
Pulnovo also appointed Andre Xiao as Chief Strategy Officer to lead its global finance strategy.
The funding round saw participation from major investors including EQT, Qiming Venture Partners, Gaorong Ventures, OrbiMed, Lilly Asia Ventures, and HSG.
Separately, Pulnovo and Medtronic have entered into an agreement exploring potential future commercialisation opportunities, though specific terms were not disclosed.
The investment follows Medtronic’s recent $550 million acquisition of Scientia Vascular, aimed at strengthening its stroke treatment portfolio.
