A new collaboration is aiming to change how people make digital payments in India. PayU has partnered with CoRover.ai to enable conversational payments powered by artificial intelligence across more than 100 Indian languages and dialects.
The initiative combines PayU’s secure payment infrastructure with CoRover.ai’s BharatGPT technology. The goal is to allow users to make digital payments simply by using voice commands, making online transactions easier for millions of people who prefer voice interactions.
Expanding voice payments
The first phase of the rollout introduces voice-based Unified Payments Interface payments on Afterlife, CoRover.ai’s digital succession platform. This early implementation allows users to complete payments through voice interactions.
The companies plan to expand these AI-powered voice payment capabilities to additional platforms in the future. The expansion is expected to include e-commerce websites, travel booking platforms, OTT applications and banking services.
Making payments easier and safer
The partnership is designed not only to introduce new technology but also to simplify digital payments for users who rely on voice-first interactions.
Highlighting the vision behind the collaboration, PayU’s Manas Mishra said, “the next phase of digital payments will happen inside AI-led conversations,” with a focus on improving both safety and user experience.
From CoRover.ai’s side, CEO Ankush Sabharwal said AI agents will help users shop or pay bills simply by speaking, removing the need for typing.
Through this collaboration, the companies aim to make voice-enabled payments more accessible across India while supporting the growing adoption of AI-powered financial services.
