Ahead of its India launch, Oppo has confirmed key details about the upcoming Reno 16, revealing that the Indian model will arrive with a different processor than the version sold in China. The smartphone will also introduce several AI-powered features and enhanced security tools.
The Oppo Reno 16 and Oppo Reno 16c will launch in India on July 2 at 12:00 PM IST. Unlike its Chinese counterpart, which is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super, the Indian version of the Reno 16 will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset built on a 4nm process.
According to Oppo, the new processor delivers up to 27% faster CPU performance, 30% better graphics rendering, and 65% improved AI performance.
The smartphone will run Android 16-based ColorOS 16 and include several AI-powered features such as AI Recording Sticker, AI Scan, AI Voice Translation, AI Menu Translation, AI Bill Manager, and AI Mind Pilot. These tools can be activated using the dedicated AI Snap Key.
Oppo has also confirmed that the Reno 16 will include Oppo Lock, an advanced theft protection feature that allows users to remotely lock the device and enable a SIM-removal lock for added security.
For photography, the handset will feature a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP telephoto portrait camera with 3.5x optical zoom and an 85mm equivalent focal length, along with a 50MP ultra-wide camera.
The Oppo Reno 16 will also debut with the HoloVerse 3D design and Floating 3D Glitter finish. The Reno 16 series will be available in Starry White, Stellar Purple, and Twilight Violet colour options and will go on sale through Amazon and Flipkart after launch.
