Cross-platform file sharing is becoming easier as OnePlus 15 users are reportedly receiving support for Apple’s AirDrop system through Google’s Quick Share platform. The new capability allows direct file transfers between compatible Android devices and Apple products, including iPhones, iPads, and Macs, without relying on third-party apps or cloud services.
The feature marks another step towards improving connectivity between Android and Apple ecosystems. Google initially introduced AirDrop compatibility on select Pixel smartphones before gradually expanding support to more Android brands. Xiaomi recently announced similar functionality through HyperOS 3, highlighting the growing adoption of cross-platform file-sharing solutions.
According to recent reports, the feature has started appearing on the OnePlus 15 through Quick Share. Users can now send photos, documents, and other files directly to supported Apple devices with a simpler and more seamless experience.
At present, the OnePlus 15 is reportedly the only OnePlus smartphone expected to support this functionality. Older flagship models, including the OnePlus 13, are not currently listed among supported devices. The same limitation appears to apply to OnePlus tablets as well.
The feature is already available or expected to be available on several other Android devices, including the Pixel 9 series, Pixel 8a, Vivo X300 Ultra, Oppo Find X8, and the Oppo Find X9 lineup.
Reports suggest that users can access the functionality by updating Quick Share to its latest version through the Google Play Store. No additional software updates or special settings appear to be required on the OnePlus 15. To receive files, Apple device users need to temporarily enable AirDrop reception for everyone.
The rollout reflects the industry’s broader push toward improving interoperability between major mobile platforms, making file sharing faster and more convenient for users across different ecosystems.
