Stacy Eng joins NRG Energy to lead people strategy and AI-driven workforce innovation

NRG Energy has announced the appointment of Stacy Eng as Senior Vice President, Head of People & AI Innovation, a newly created leadership role that highlights the company’s focus on artificial intelligence, workforce transformation, and talent innovation as part of its long-term growth strategy.

In her new position, Eng will lead the integration of people strategy, leadership development, workforce transformation, and AI-enabled organizational capabilities across the enterprise. The appointment reflects the increasing convergence of human capital and artificial intelligence as organizations prepare for a more digital and technology-driven future.

Eng joins NRG Energy with nearly 30 years of experience across talent management, leadership development, organizational transformation, learning strategy, and AI-enabled workforce innovation.

Most recently, she served as Chief Learning & Talent Officer and HR AI Strategy & Change Leader at Chevron. During her 6-year tenure, she led enterprise learning, leadership development, talent management, and AI-driven workforce transformation initiatives. She also played a key role in aligning talent and organizational capability strategies with the company’s digital transformation efforts.

In addition, Eng serves as Executive Advisor, Chief Strategist & AI Enablement Officer at AI Strategy Advisors, where she advises organizations on AI strategy, workforce readiness, leadership transformation, and enterprise change management.

Prior to Chevron, she spent 8 years with Johnson & Johnson, holding senior global leadership positions including Global Head of Leadership Development & Learning and Global Head of Talent Management for Supply Chain. In these roles, she led global learning strategies, succession planning, leadership development, and talent transformation initiatives.

Earlier in her career, Eng served as Executive Director, Talent Development at Morgan Stanley, where she led leadership and talent development programs for the global financial services firm.

She also spent 8 years at Goldman Sachs as Vice President, Goldman Sachs University, helping design and deliver leadership and professional development programs across key international markets, including New York, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.

Eng began her career in leadership development with American Express, where she managed programs focused on organizational capability building and workforce effectiveness.

At NRG Energy, Eng will be responsible for advancing enterprise-wide people innovation, AI-enabled workforce transformation, leadership capability development, organizational effectiveness, talent strategy, and future workforce readiness as the company continues to evolve its business and customer solutions portfolio.
