Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra configurations and pricing emerge before event

Microsoft is set to host a special event in San Francisco on October 7, where it is expected to share updates on upcoming hardware and software. While the company has confirmed announcements related to RTX Spark and Surface, the exact products remain undisclosed. Hours before the event, leaked details have pointed to possible pricing and specifications for the Surface Laptop Ultra.

Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra pricing and specifications

According to tipster Roland Quandt, the Surface Laptop Ultra could be positioned as a premium device. Microsoft is reportedly preparing 2 RTX Spark-based configurations, with prices expected to start below $3,000 (roughly Rs. 2,89,000) and go beyond $7,000 (roughly Rs. 6,75,000) for the highest-end version.

The tipster also claims that the Surface Laptop Ultra will be the only new Surface hardware announced at the event. This would rule out earlier reports about a 12-inch Surface device, reportedly codenamed “Minos”.

A listing allegedly sourced from a channel partner in the DACH region has also revealed details of the 15-inch Surface Laptop Ultra. The listing points to 2 processor and GPU configurations, identified as Nvidia RTX Spark S2 and RTX Spark S3. The units are reportedly meant for demonstration purposes in Switzerland and Luxembourg.

The Spark S2 is expected to be the lower-end option, while the Spark S3 could be the premium configuration. The listed RAM options include 24GB, 32GB, 48GB and 64GB. All variants reportedly feature 1TB SSD storage and Wi-Fi connectivity, along with Windows 11 Pro.

The Surface Laptop Ultra could be available in Platinum and Dark Steel colour options.

Microsoft has not yet confirmed the hardware details. The San Francisco event is scheduled for later today at 10:00 am PT (10:30 pm IST).
