In a strategic move toward real-world AI applications, South Korea’s LG Electronics has announced an expanded collaboration with Nvidia, focusing on the emerging field of physical artificial intelligence. The development was revealed during LG’s Q1 2026 earnings call, where the company shared plans to deepen its cooperation beyond existing AI and computing initiatives.
The enhanced partnership aims to bring AI into physical environments such as robotics, smart factories, and infrastructure systems. Physical AI refers to technologies that can perceive, reason, and act in real-world settings, moving beyond software-based systems into machines that directly interact with the physical world.
LG has already been working with Nvidia’s industrial AI platforms, including tools like Nvidia Omniverse, to build digital twin systems and real-time manufacturing solutions. These tools help simulate and optimise production processes before real-world deployment, improving efficiency and reducing risks.
The deeper collaboration is expected to accelerate LG’s efforts in robotics and intelligent systems. This includes the development of next-generation autonomous machines and AI-powered devices. Nvidia’s full-stack AI ecosystem, along with its robotics frameworks and computing platforms, supports the creation of systems that can learn from data and adapt to complex physical environments.
The move highlights a wider industry shift from purely digital AI applications to integrated physical AI systems. By strengthening its partnership with Nvidia, LG aims to play a key role in the next phase of AI, where intelligent machines and infrastructure become central to sectors like manufacturing, mobility, and smart environments.
