Lenskart enters India’s smart wearable market with affordable AI-powered glasses

Lenskart has officially opened early access registrations in India for its B by Lenskart smart glasses, while also revealing pricing details for the wearable device. The smart glasses are priced at Rs 22,000 for early buyers, while the regular retail price will be Rs 27,000 after the initial access phase.

The launch marks one of the first serious made-in-India attempts at consumer-focused AR-style smart glasses, targeting everyday users instead of only developers or technology demonstrations.

The B by Lenskart glasses are designed to resemble regular eyewear and will be available in both clear lens and sunglasses variants. The device features slightly thicker arms to house internal hardware, along with a small front-facing camera integrated into the frame.

The smart glasses are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chip and include 32GB of storage. The same chipset is also used in Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses lineup. The device supports Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and is compatible with Android 12 and iOS 18 onwards.

Lenskart is positioning the glasses primarily as an AI-enabled wearable rather than a content-focused device. The product includes a 12MP camera capable of recording 1080p videos, while AI features are powered through Google Gemini integration. Users can interact with the assistant using voice commands, take quick notes, and access features such as “Look & Tell” for identifying nearby objects. The glasses also support more than 40 languages.

Battery life is rated at around 4 hours on the glasses, while the charging case extends total usage to nearly 48 hours. Fast charging can deliver up to 50% battery in approximately 15 minutes. The glasses also support prescription lenses ranging from -6 to +6.

Compared to Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, which start at around Rs 39,900 in India, Lenskart’s offering delivers similar core hardware at a lower price point. However, Meta’s devices continue to offer better video quality, longer battery performance, and a more advanced content-sharing ecosystem.

Early access registrations are currently live on Lenskart’s official website. The glasses will be available in Black and Silver variants, with a wider rollout expected later.
