Roshni Das is set to take charge as Managing Director of KUKA Group companies in India from October 1, bringing more than 25 years of experience across technology, banking and advertising to the industrial automation and robotics company.
Das announced her appointment on LinkedIn, describing the move as an opportunity to combine her interest in technology with a new business category and a role closer to decision-making.
She joins KUKA after nearly 2 decades at Intel, where she held several marketing and business leadership positions in India and international markets. Most recently, she served as Vice President, Global Marketing Innovation and India Region CMO, leading the company’s global marketing innovation function alongside its India marketing operations.
Earlier, Das was General Manager and CMO for Asia Pacific and Japan, India Marketing Director, and also held an interim role as Managing Director and Country Sales Head.
Before joining Intel, she worked at Standard Chartered in product marketing and corporate sales. She began her career in advertising at Lowe Lintas, where she worked on brands including Britannia and BPL.
Following her Intel career, Das also worked with early-stage businesses as a fractional CMO, advising founders on marketing systems, brand building and go-to-market strategies.
Her move to KUKA comes as the company expands its focus from traditional industrial automation towards software, AI and robotics. KUKA has described this evolution as “Automation 2.0”, combining conventional automation with systems capable of perceiving, deciding and acting in physical environments.
Das said her interest in robotics was driven by the growing connection between AI and the physical world.
“Now Im curious about what happens when it moves into the physical one, where AI meets machines, sensors, software, and robotics,” she wrote, referring to the convergence as “Physical AI”.
KUKA has been developing its strategy around this shift. In March 2026, the company unveiled its Automation Management Platform at NVIDIA GTC, with a focus on combining rule-based automation with intent-based capabilities and Physical AI.
KUKA operates in more than 50 countries, with businesses spanning industrial automation, robotics, intralogistics, warehouse automation, software and AI. Its Indian operations include KUKA India and KUKA Systems India.
India is also becoming an important market for KUKA as industrial automation adoption expands. Das pointed to manufacturing growth, increasing support for automation and the country’s engineering and software talent as factors behind her decision to take up the role.
“India is a great place to be working on this. Manufacturing is scaling, automation is getting real support, the software and engineering talent is deep, and theres a lot of room left to grow,” she said.
Das will now lead KUKA’s Indian operations as the company seeks to bring together manufacturing, robotics, software and AI. Her appointment also creates a connection with KUKA Group CEO Christoph Schell, who previously held senior commercial, sales and marketing roles at Intel before becoming KUKA’s Group CEO in July 2025.
