Hindustan Power has appointed Nikunj Nangalia as Chief Executive Officer – Biofuels, strengthening its leadership team as the company expands its clean energy portfolio.
In his new role, he will lead the company’s biofuels business, driving strategy, commercial growth, partnerships, and execution across its renewable and transitional energy initiatives.
Nangalia brings more than 19 years of experience across the energy, renewable energy, biofuels, green hydrogen, infrastructure, EPC, and business strategy sectors. He has extensive expertise in building large-scale clean energy businesses, leading commercial operations, developing strategic partnerships, and driving business growth.
Before joining Hindustan Power, Nangalia served as Chief Commercial Officer at Essar Future Energy, where he led procurement, sales, and regulatory affairs for the group’s Future Energy business. Prior to that, he spent 5 years at ReNew, holding senior leadership positions including AVP – International Business Development & Sales and General Manager – Project Development.
During his tenure, he led global partnerships across green hydrogen, green ammonia, carbon markets, and renewable energy, developed multi-billion-dollar investment opportunities, negotiated international offtake agreements, monetized carbon credit portfolios, and expanded the company’s presence across Europe, Japan, Singapore, and other global markets.
Earlier in his career, Nangalia served as General Manager – PMO at DLF Limited, where he managed large-scale commercial and residential infrastructure projects. He also held leadership roles at ReNew Power, Larsen & Toubro, and Engineers India Limited, leading business transformation, project development, strategic planning, EPC execution, investment planning, and international business development initiatives.
His appointment reflects Hindustan Power’s continued focus on strengthening its clean energy business and expanding its presence in the rapidly growing biofuels sector as part of India’s energy transition.
