In a renewed effort to strengthen action against cybercrime, the Gujarat Home Department has launched Operation Mule Hunt 2.0, a statewide campaign aimed at identifying and investigating mule accounts linked to cyber fraud activities.
The initiative was reviewed during a high-level meeting held in Gandhinagar on Monday night. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and brought together senior police officials from across the state. Officers from various districts participated through video conferencing.
According to an official statement, instructions have been issued to begin investigations into mule accounts across all districts starting Tuesday. The coordinated drive is intended to enhance enforcement efforts and improve the state’s response to cybercrime-related activities.
State Police Chief K. L. N. Rao was among the senior officials present at the meeting. Police Commissioners from all cities and Superintendents of Police (SPs) from every district also attended the review session.
The campaign marks a statewide, coordinated approach involving law enforcement agencies across Gujarat to tackle the growing challenge of cybercrime and strengthen monitoring of suspicious financial accounts used in fraudulent transactions.
