Groww cofounders prepare ₹500 crore fund for AI and early-stage startups

India’s startup ecosystem could see another significant pool of founder-led capital as Groww’s cofounders prepare to launch a new investment fund focused on emerging businesses. The proposed fund is expected to have a corpus of ₹400–500 crore and will operate under Stargazer Alternative Investment Fund (AIF).

The fund will be backed entirely by the personal capital of Groww cofounders Lalit Keshre, Ishan Bansal, Harsh Jain, and Neeraj Singh. The founders do not plan to raise capital from external limited partners, allowing them to retain greater flexibility over investment decisions.

The fund will mainly target consumer internet and deeptech startups, with a growing focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and other frontier technologies. The strategy reflects increasing interest in AI-led innovation and India’s expanding technology startup ecosystem.

With a focus on seed and early-stage ventures, the founders plan to support startups during key stages of product development and business expansion. Along with funding, they aim to bring their entrepreneurial experience and strategic guidance to the companies they back.

The proposed fund will become the cofounders’ 2nd investment vehicle under the Stargazer AIF platform. It also highlights their long-term focus on supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in India.

Since the fund will use only the founders’ own capital and will not involve external investors, they will have full flexibility in choosing and supporting promising startups across emerging technology sectors.
