Voice AI is getting another upgrade as Elon Musk-led SpaceXAI introduces Grok Voice Think Fast 2.0, which it describes as its most advanced voice model so far. The new model succeeds Grok Voice Think Fast 1.0, which was launched globally in April, and brings improvements in speech reasoning, transcription accuracy, conversations and tool use reliability.

SpaceXAI said Grok AI users will automatically move from Voice Think Fast 1.0 to the new model on August 5. Users who want to continue with the older version can pin it before the migration date. The new model is priced at $0.08, roughly Rs. 8, per minute of audio.

During A/B testing of Grok Voice Think Fast 2.0 on Starlink, SpaceXAI reported “a significant increase” in sales conversion and support containment rates.

The company compared its latest voice model with Grok Voice Think Fast 1.0, OpenAI’s GPT-Realtime-2.1 and Google’s Gemini 3.1 Flash across several benchmarks. SpaceXAI claimed that Voice Think Fast 2.0 performed better than the 3 models in most tests.

In the AA Speech-to-Speech Quality Index, Grok Voice Think Fast 2.0 scored 82.9%, compared with 75.7% for Grok Voice Think Fast 1.0, 79.1% for GPT-Realtime-2.1 and 69.5% for Gemini 3.1 Flash.

The model also scored 97.2% in the Speech Reasoning test on Big Bench Audio. Grok Voice Think Fast 1.0 scored 97.1%, while GPT-Realtime-2.1 and Gemini 3.1 Flash scored 96% and 96.6%, respectively.

However, OpenAI’s GPT-Realtime-2.1 performed better in Full Duplex Bench’s Conversational Dynamics test, scoring 95.7% compared with 95.1% for Voice Think Fast 2.0.

SpaceXAI’s internal testing also showed a 1.5-2.0x improvement in transcription accuracy over Deepgram Nova 3 and ElevenLabs Scribe v2. The testing involved “thousands of short phrases in 24 different languages”.
