Investors using Google’s financial services are set to get a more intelligent experience as the company has introduced the Google Finance app for Android. Alongside the new app, Google has also upgraded its web platform with AI-powered portfolio management tools and personalised market insights to help users track investments more efficiently.
The new Google Finance app for Android offers personalised watchlists, real-time market prices, a financial news feed, and AI-powered research tools. One of its standout features is Key Moments, which uses AI to explain major stock price movements and provide users with better market context. The app also allows users to analyse companies, sectors, and broader market trends using Google’s AI research assistant.
Google has also officially rolled out the redesigned Google Finance web experience after its beta phase. The updated platform introduces enhanced portfolio management, allowing users to view all their investments through a single dashboard with performance tracking, asset allocation, and detailed investment insights.
Existing Google Finance portfolios will automatically migrate to the new platform. Users can also create new portfolios by uploading CSV or PDF files, describing their investments, or uploading screenshots of their holdings.
The upgraded platform includes an AI-powered search tool that can answer portfolio-related questions, such as identifying underrepresented sectors or explaining how fixed-income investments could impact long-term growth.
Another major addition is AI-generated market briefings. Users can create customised prompts, such as requesting daily pre-market updates, overnight cryptocurrency summaries, or watchlist-specific reports. These briefings can be scheduled for automatic delivery based on user preferences.
Google said the new portfolio management features and AI-generated market briefings are rolling out globally starting this week. While the Google Finance app is currently available only for Android users, the company confirmed that an iOS version is under development and is expected to launch later this year.
