Google Chrome 150 for Android introduces new navigation and menu updates

Google has started rolling out Chrome 150 for Android, bringing a dedicated back button along with several interface changes designed to improve navigation and menu accessibility.

The latest update adds a back button to the browser’s 3-dot menu, giving users an additional way to navigate pages without relying on the Android system back gesture or navigation button. Previously, the menu only included a forward button in the top row. This feature has already been available on Chrome for iOS.

As part of the update, the Info button has been removed and replaced with a new “Site controls” option in the overflow menu. The addition expands the list of browser tools available to users, following the introduction of “Show Reading mode” earlier this year.

The interface changes also shift the Bookmark star and Download button to the right side of the menu. While the new layout improves menu organisation, it may require existing users to adjust to the updated button positions.

Google has also renamed the “Add to Home screen” option. It now appears as “Install and create shortcut”, offering clearer wording for users who want quick access to websites from their device’s home screen.

The updated interface is rolling out with Chrome 150, which is now widely available through the Google Play Store for Android users.

The latest changes reflect Google’s continued efforts to refine the Chrome browsing experience by introducing easier navigation options and improving menu organisation across its mobile browser.
