Eveready sets up ₹200 Cr facility to strengthen battery manufacturing and exports

Strengthening its manufacturing capabilities, Eveready Industries India Ltd. has set up a ₹200 Cr manufacturing plant aimed at expanding its footprint in the global alkaline battery market and meeting rising domestic demand.

The facility, located in Jammu, is designed to enhance production of high-performance power solutions while supporting the company’s international expansion plans.

The plant marks a key milestone as India’s first operational alkaline battery manufacturing unit, helping reduce import dependence and strengthen domestic supply chains.

With a robust setup, the facility has an annual installed capacity of around 456 Mn batteries. It also includes capabilities to manufacture flashlights and lighting products.

The investment aligns with Eveready’s strategy to scale its presence in the growing alkaline battery segment, driven by increasing demand from power-intensive electronic devices.

The new plant is expected to improve margin efficiency through end-to-end domestic production while creating opportunities for exports and private-label manufacturing.

Overall, the development supports India’s push towards self-reliance in advanced manufacturing and positions Eveready to expand both domestic and global operations.
