Emversity names Rajat Gupta as CFO to support its next phase of growth and expansion

Strengthening its finance leadership to support long-term growth, Emversity has appointed Rajat Gupta as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective immediately. Reporting to Founder & CEO Vivek Sinha, he will oversee finance, controllership, treasury, taxation, secretarial, and business finance across the group.

Emversity is an employability-led skill training platform serving the healthcare, retail, hospitality, and EPC sectors. As a skilling and recruitment partner to employers and universities, it delivers hands-on training through simulation labs, structured internships, and industry-focused programmes across partner institutions. In collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC), the company also operates standalone skill training centres. With 50 locations nationwide, its business model places finance at the core of scaling operations due to long fee collection cycles and upfront infrastructure investments.

Rajat joins Emversity from Livspace, where he served as Group Finance Head and Financial Controller across India, Singapore, Malaysia, and Riyadh, leading controllership, business finance, tax, and compliance. Before that, he headed finance and supply chain operations at Medlife, managing finance across 13 entities and leading a 220-member team supporting an online pharmacy marketplace, 45 fulfilment centres, retail stores, and diagnostic laboratories.

Earlier, Rajat spent 12 years at Bharti Airtel, serving as Circle CFO and Head of Supply Chain for Gujarat, where he managed the P&L across mobile, fixed line, DTH, and payments banking businesses. He also held leadership roles in FP&A, business planning, mobile revenue planning, and group working capital, treasury, and insurance across 33 entities in 15 countries.

Vivek Sinha, Founder & CEO, Emversity, said, “We put capital into centres, training equipment, content and people well before the revenue from a cohort arrives, and we collect fees from families and partner universities over several years. A business built that way needs controls and cash discipline from the beginning. Rajat has run finance for distributed operating businesses, through audits, acquisitions and a merger. That is the experience we wanted inside the company at this stage.“

Rajat is a Cost Accountant (CMA) from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, an All India Rank 10 holder, and holds postgraduate management qualifications along with an IFRS certification from Grant Thornton.
