In a step towards adopting advanced technology in administration, the Delhi government is planning to collaborate with tech companies, startups, and research institutions working in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Officials said the IT Department has invited participation from industry players and academic bodies to present AI-driven solutions that can strengthen governance. The focus areas include health, education, urban planning, mobility, air quality monitoring, and public service delivery.
The initiative aims to use AI tools in key areas such as digital health governance, predictive disease surveillance, hospital resource optimisation, and citizen-centric service platforms. The goal is to improve efficiency and make government systems more responsive.
A senior official said the objective is to identify innovative AI solutions that can be tested at the department level. As per the expression of interest document issued by the IT Department, the proposed solutions must already be commercially available and should have a proven track record in public service delivery or governance at national or international levels.
Interested companies, startups, and research institutions will be required to give live demonstrations of their AI tools before a government evaluation committee. They will also present details about the technology used, deployment status, and expected benefits for government use.
Officials added that the process could lead to pilot projects and future collaborations. These pilots may help scale effective AI solutions across departments if they deliver results.
