In a step towards strengthening India’s defence self-reliance, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bit Mapper Integration Technologies Pvt Ltd. The partnership focuses on building advanced electronic solutions for defence and aerospace applications.

The collaboration will cover critical areas such as Electronic Warfare (EW), naval radar systems, and drone technologies, all of which are essential for modern defence capabilities. The agreement was formalised between Manoj Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of BEL, and Amit Mahajan, CEO of BMIT, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.

According to officials, the partnership aims to design, develop, and manufacture advanced electronic modules, subsystems, and complete systems. It is also expected to strengthen India’s indigenous capabilities in both design and production, aligning with the government’s push for ‘Make in India’ and self-reliance in strategic sectors.

By combining BEL’s deep expertise in defence electronics with BMIT’s specialised technological strengths, the collaboration is set to accelerate innovation in high-end, mission-critical technologies.

The move also reflects a growing trend of partnerships between public sector enterprises and private technology firms to build a stronger domestic defence manufacturing ecosystem.

With increasing focus on advanced warfare systems and aerospace innovation, such collaborations are expected to play a key role in positioning India as a global player in defence technology.
